General
The Umbrella Corporation and its crop of lethal viruses have been destroyed and contained. But a new, more dangerous threat has emerged. Years after surviving the events in Raccoon City, Chris Redfield has been fighting the scourge of bio-organic weapons all over the world. Now a member of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA), Chris is sent to Africa to investigate a biological agent that is transforming the populace into aggressive and disturbing creatures. Joined by another local BSAA agent, Sheva Alomar, the two must work together to solve the truth behind the disturbing turn of events.

After the game is installed do the following:
Run the game, it'll try to install "Game for Windows" but it will fail. After that the game will crash.
Change the wine version of the game to Windows XP (21690).
Download from the web the wmp11 installer (64 bits).
Install it how is described at askubuntu (consider using the right names in my case wmfdist11-64.exe for the codec and wmp11-64.exe for the media player). You have to install it in the game wine prefix with something like this:
$ env WINEPREFIX=/home/YOURUSER/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/21690/pfx/ wine wmfdist11-64.exe $ env WINEPREFIX=/home/YOURUSER/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/21690/pfx/ wine wmp11-64.exe
Install Game for Windows with the following:
$ env WINEPREFIX=/home/YOURUSER/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/21690/pfx/ winetricks gfw
