Metro 2033 Redux is an updated release of Metro 2033 rebuilt to match the graphical engine of Metro: Last Light and more specifically the one for Metro: Last Light Redux The game runs on an updated version of the 4A Engine with performance enhancements, and the introduction of graphical effects such as global illumination and terrain tessellation. Compared to the original version there is now advanced lighting, dynamic weather, higher detail for characters with improved animation, more dynamic destruction, and improved smoke, fire, and particle effect. There are now two game modes: Survival focuses on a survival-horror similar to the original Metro 2033 with deadlier enemies, while Spartan is described as Last Light style with more focus on combat and more resources available. It also incorporates the DLC Metro 2033: Ranger Pack for the hudless and more difficult ranger mode. For PS4 and Xbox One this is the first release of the game.
